Polyether PTMEG

ULTRACAST 60T-series is a diisocyanate terminated urethane prepolymer in keeping with trends towards new generation low viscosity and toxicity products.  Diamines are not required as curatives and highly volatile diisocyanates are avoided in the formulation.  ULTRACAST 60T-series  is based on 4.4 Diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol (PTMEG).  MDI is recognised as a diisocyanate of low volatility and minimises the hazards associated with this family of chemicals.  PTMEG has a proven history as a backbone polymer for urethane prepolymers and, in combination with MDI, results in elastomers possessing the following properties:

• Excellent hydrolysis resistance
• Good low temperature performance
• High rebound resilience
• Resistance to internal heat build-up under dynamic stress
• Resistance to microbiological attack
