ULTRACAST™ 60C series is a di-isocyanate terminated urethane prepolymer in keeping with modern trends with regards to use of low or non-toxic products. Diamines are not required as curatives for this product and volatile diisocyanates are avoided in the formulation. ULTRACAST™ 60C series is based on 4,4 Diphenylmethane di-isocyanate (MDI) and a combination of polycaprolactone hydrogen donors. MDI is recognised as a diisocyanate of low volatility, even at elevated temperatures, and avoids the hazards associated with this family of chemicals. Polycaprolactone polyols have traditionally established themselves as a highly versatile backbone polymer for urethane elastomers, possessing high temperature performance associated with polyesters without the hydrolytic instability. The low temperature performance and hydrolysis resistance of polycaprolactones approaches that of polyether based urethanes and also offers the advantages of superior solvent and chemical resistance.
